The Plan SOLMC#5

The Plan

“Ok, I’ll convince them while you are on you overnight.”
“Yeah and I’ll convince them before my overnight.”
Samar and I were coming up with a plan on how to get a trampoline. Since the day we had gone to Grace and Elliot’s house and jumped on their trampoline, we had wanted one.

“See we want one because we love them and it would benefit you too because you won’t have to pester us to go outside and get some exercise.” I told my parents.

“Look we are glad to get you guys a trampoline, the only thing is that I think you guys will use it for about a month and then forget about it.” Dad says.

“No but we won’t do that, we will use it all the time.” I protest.

“Ok…” Says dad.

“Yes. Awsome. Oh My, This is so exciting!” I squealed with happiness.

I couldn’t wait to tell Samar but I had to wait for about a week before being able to tell him. But in that time we went to the trampoline place and looked at trampolines. I saw the one I wanted and insisted that we went with Samar when he came back from his overnight.

About a week later we were back in the store and Samar and I were jumping on the trampoline I loved.

“Mom I like this one the best, its the biggest and it will give us enough room when Riya, Rayan and Rohan come over.” I said.

Our cousins, Riya, Rayan, and Rohan were coming over right after school ended. We planned on having the trampoline by then.

A couple weeks later...

“The trampoline will be there when you get back from music.” Dad told us.

“Finally!” I cried.

When we got back from music it was too dark to go out on so we had to wait for Friday after school.

“Come on Samar.” I dragged Samar out to the trampoline and we climbed on and started to jump.

We laughed and jumped for about an hour and when we came back in and Mom asked how it was, I replied,

“Awesome.”

Allegiant
By Veronica Roth
Week 2
SPOILERS!!!

I am still reading this book but so far it is fabulous.

Allegiant is told from the perspective of Tobias and Tris.
Both of them have made it through the fences at the end of the city, but unfortunately, Tori didn’t.

Amar joins the Bureau of Genetic Welfare, who explain that the Divergent are the are genetically pure and everyone else is impure. Both Tris and Tobias are confused by the new information. On top of that David (the main scientist) gives Tris a file on her mother.

I love this book so far and I can’t wait to get to the end! I would highly recommend this book and series to people who liked the Hunger Games I am going to see Divergent the movie this weekend so I’m really excited! Please don’t spoil anything in the comments for me. Thanks.

Stargazer Lilies SOLMC#3

Stargazer Lilies

“What do I paint for mom?” I asked myself.
“Oh!”
I opened my mouth and the word came out, Stargazer Lilies.
I ran up the stairs, grabbed a canvas and my paints. I sat down, took the iPad and started to skim the internet for a good picture of a Stargazer Lily, My mom’s favorite flower. Finally I found it, the perfect picture.

My pencil skimmed over the white surface creating an outline of the lily.
The colors I had mixed just a minute before came flooding out onto the canvas.

The Stargazer Lily I wanted to paint was looking awesome.
I finished around 11:00pm. I showed Dad my painting and he loved it. The tissue paper seemed to fly along the canvas and wrap itself. I was so excited, I could picture her excitement when she opened the gift.  My excitement kept me up until 12:00 that night.

I woke up and wondered if Mom had gone downstairs and seen her gifts. I ran downstairs and found my dad cleaning up so Mom would wake up to a clean house. I said good morning and told him we should make tea for her and give it to her in bed.
We made the tea and gave it to her. I pulled her downstairs and presented her with the tissue paper wrapped canvas.

“Happy Mother’s Day Mom!”

This is a picture of the Stargazer Lily I painted for my mom.

Smoke Bomb SOLMC#2

Smoke bomb

A little red thing that I recognized as an iPad cleaner flew onto my bed next to me. I spun my head and saw my brother in a goofy Balaclava (the thing you wear when you ski that covers your nose and mouth) and a black shirt with black pants. He had a wooden stick in his watch and up his sleeve. Samar held a wood pole as a sword and had another one in his shirt. He ran into my room and ambushed me.

“What the… What are you doing???!!!!” I yelled at him.
“Hoooaiya!! Yaatima hooashi!” He cried.
I raised my eyebrow at him.
“Do you know where Mom and Dad are?” He asked.
“Aren’t they downstairs?”
“No.” He replied.
“Why did you pretend to be a ninja?”  I asked.
“Because.”

“I wish I had a smoke bomb, then I could ambush you and sneak in.”
“We should make a smoke bomb and ambush mom and dad when they get home.” I cried.
“Yes! Okay we are going to need a balloon.” Samar smiled evilly.
“We don’t have any balloons so…” I trailed off.
“Ok…”
“Oooh! We have paper cups.” I nodded.
“Ok do we have baby powder?” He asked.
“Yes.” I grabbed the baby powder and handed it to my brother.
We filled the cup around three quarters of the way full and the rest of the way with powder sugar.

“Are they here yet?” Samar had been repeating this sentence many times over.
“No”
“Where are they?”
“I don’t know Samar.”

Dad entered the house and I gasped. He had appeared out of nowhere and we hadn’t caught him.
I created a diversion by telling dad I saw a deer outside and Samar crept up behind him and threw the smoke bomb . White powder flew around dad’s feet and Samar gently hit him with a stick.
We got the ambush we wanted.

Leap of faith SOLMC#1

Leap of faith

There I was standing at the edge of a cliff wondering what in the world I was doing there.

I had been talked into taking the leap of faith off a cliff and into the blue waters of Mexico by my dad and brother.
So again, I was standing over the beautiful water that I was supposed to jump into but I couldn’t seem to bring myself to do it. Samar and dad smiled and told me from to jump from the blue that seemed miles away from me. I shuddered and looked at my mom and got a nod of consolation.
Okay.
1…
2…
3…
I jumped.
I felt the air whoosh up around me and my stomach got that feeling like it was rising up into my chest. I plugged my nose and sealed my eyes closed waiting for my body to be engulfed in water. But it was taking forever so my hand fell away from my nose but my eyes remained shut. the second my hand drifted I felt a cool wet substance cover me and go up my nose. My head emerged from the water and I saw Samar and dad floating in the water with me. I look up at the cliff and say, “I am never doing that again.”

Book post #5

Insurgent
By Veronica Roth
Final Week
4 out of 5 stars

One choice can destroy you. The war between the factions continues. Tris gets captured and almost killed. Saved by Peter, Tris finds herself trusting Peter more than her brother Caleb, who does end up betraying Tris. Tris starts to doubt  Tobias’s love for her but in the end he proves her completely wrong. But even with the greatness of Jeanine being dead, will the Dauntless win?

I liked this book. It was a huge page turner but it definitely wasn’t as good as Divergent. This book is a little similar to The Hunger Games with the common dystopian theme. I would recommend this to people who liked The Hunger Games.

SOL #5

Just a bit of honey

“Do you want to try the honey on toast today?” Asked my nanny.
“Ummm… sure.” I answered.
I was in over my head in excitement because my nanny had been praising honey on toast for quite awhile. I know it sounds like a lame thing to be excited about but please keep in mind that I was around 4-5.
Jenny (my nanny) calls me to the table and I come rushing over. I am presented by a piece of toast with a bit of honey on it. I am ecstatic and I bit into the toast. The crunch is amazing and a sweet liquid seeps into my mouth and I am immediately in love.
“Mmmmmmmmm.” the sound of an amazing taste comes out of my mouth.
“You like it?” asked Jenny.
“It is amazing.” I reply.

A few minutes after I taste the honey toast, I feel myself gag and I know what that means, everything that just went down was about to come up.

I throw up and I realize that as good as it tastes, I probably shouldn’t have honey toast for quite awhile. :(

SOL#6

All Because Of A Movie
If you haven’t watched the 3rd Harry Potter movie and are planning to, don’t read this because I do spoil a bit of the end of the movie. Well not so much but still. :)

I was around 7 years old and my mom and I had gone to a party and Samar and my dad had stayed home. Mom and I arrived home and we found Samar and dad watching the end “Prisoner of Azkaban.” Although I had seen it before I wound up seeing the part where the Werewolf and the Dog fight. Since I was only about 7, it kind of freaked me out but when I went to bed I slept like a rock but had a very disturbing dream.

It was late at night but all of us were awake, my room has a good view of the front door. I looked out the window and caught sight of a Werewolf at the door.
“Mom! Mom! There is a Werewolf at the door!” I cried.
“No way, Werewolves don’t exist.” Mom answered.
“Come look, I’m not kidding.” I said.
Mom came into my room and peered out the window.
“Oh My God!!! Ok um… hide wherever you can.”
I flew under my bed and tried to silence my breathing, I heard the door open and my heart was pounding. The feet were creeping up the stairs and I started to freak out. My bedroom door opened and I felt the wolf’s breathing and heard it as well, I saw the hairy feet and my breathing quickened.

I woke up scared to death. It was still night time and my mind was racing so I rushed into my parents room and climbed into bed with my mom. I still was scared so I made up a little song and repeated it in my head till I fell asleep.
